Embry Riddle Student Arrested: An Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University student has been arrested off campus for making threats, according to officials.

The school issued an email stating that the student is being detained in jail without bail, and that school authorities are collaborating with the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Two teenagers reported to authorities that they were concerned about messages they received through a Snapchat group message.

According to Daytona Beach Police, they responded to an apartment complex where the student, 19-year-old John Hagins, resides. He was arrested.

According to authorities, Hagins was carrying a backpack with a collapsible rifle and a magazine.

According to police, it was the last day of winter break at Embry-Riddle, and “this was all in his plan.”

According to Chief Jakari Young, Hagins mentioned the 1999 Columbine High School shooting to one of the department’s officers.

“He wanted to create another Columbine,” The chief said.

Hagins has been trespassed at the school and has been suspended. Hagins will not be able to return to campus.

School officials say a lockdown at the university was not necessary for the threat because the community and police were notified immediately and did what they are trained to do to keep everyone safe.

“Out of an abundance of caution, increased security protocols will be maintained on campus,” an email from the school said.

A student at Embry Riddle reportedly plotted to shoot up the campus on the final day of the school with the winter break just beginning. The 19-year-old was arrested after the police found out a series of Snapchat messages where he had discussed his plan.

Daytona Beach Police found out the messages and took action immediately. They took the student under custody and saved a possible rampage from occurring.

John Hagins is a student at Embry Riddle Aeronautic University.

As per the reports, he was arrested by the Daytona Beach Police. He was reportedly planning to shoot up the campus premises on the last day of the school before winter break.

Moreover, the student exchanged messages about his plan on Snapchat. He had a plan of bringing a folding gun in his back on the last day of school. Besides, he would have hundreds of rounds of ammunition as well.

And it looks like his plan was true. Hagins had already sold his vehicle to purchase the gun and ammunition. It is miraculous save that the Dayton Beach Police prevented it from happening.
